LogistiCare Transportation is built around the personal preferences and desired outcomes of each client receiving services. That means predictable pickup times, clean vehicles, and drivers who know the person by name — not just an ID.
We coordinate with each client's plan so transportation is a support, not a stressor: medical appointments, day programs, community outings, work, and the ordinary things that make a week feel like a week.

What families and coordinators ask us most.
How do I get DD Waiver funding?
Start with your local Community Services Board (CSB). Your support coordinator can screen for waiver eligibility, add you to the wait list, and — once slots open — help match you with a licensed provider like Thorough Care. We're happy to walk families through this on a call.
What is the SIS assessment?
The Support Intensity Scale (SIS) is a standardized assessment that measures the type and intensity of support a person needs across daily life, health, safety, and community activities. We use SIS results to shape each client's individualized, person-centered plan.
How do I make a referral?
CSB support coordinators can refer directly by calling us or emailing info@thoroughcare.org. Families can also contact us — we'll coordinate with the CSB for you. Bring the client's ISP or SIS results if you have them; if not, we'll help gather what's needed.
Do you accept Medicaid?
Yes. Thorough Care is a licensed Medicaid DD Waiver provider in Virginia. Waiver services covered by Medicaid are billed directly — there's no out-of-pocket cost to the family for covered services.
Is there a waitlist?
It depends on the home and the level of support requested. Call us for current availability — we'll give you a straight answer and let you know timelines even if we're not the right fit today.
